Shawn Alvari returned to the States in November, 2016, from playing abroad in the Persian Gulf Pro League, which is the highest tier of professional soccer in Iran. He had stints with teams such as Saipa FC, Foolad FC and Naft Tehran FC, where he played with players with both Domestic and International experiences. He also played under world renowned coaches with World Cup, European and Asian competition experiences.
Prior to going to play soccer abroad in Iran, Alvari played professionally in the U.S. He had stints with teams such as Hollywood United Hitman and Los Angeles Blues - known now as the Orange County SC - which competes in the USL. Alvari also played collegiately at Hope International University which competes in the NAIA.
Alvari started with the Fullerton Rangers in 2017, but he is not new to the coaching world. He has been an assistant coach for the CSUDH Women’s Soccer Team which competes in the NCAA and a head coach for the VCHS Boy’s Soccer Program which competes in the CIF SS.
Shawn holds an American Aerobic Association International/ International Sports Medicine Association CPR/AED certification. He speaks Farsi and English fluently and also holds duel Citizenship in both Iran and the U.S. He resides in Diamond Bar, CA.
