SYL / Pre-SYL
This is the highest level available to Fullerton Rangers players. Teams at this level will be provided with full-time coaching staff following a set age and level specific coaching program, as outlined in the Fullerton Rangers Player Development Curriculum, as well as coach education. Additionally, players will be provided with college preparation assistance, College Fit Finder use and the opportunity to attend high-level showcase events. All players will have the opportunity to take advantage of the Open Training Policy should they wish to get more training. Goalkeeper training at no cost will be provided to the respective goalkeepers. Besides participation in the SYL (U14-U18), teams will play in the California Regional League (CRL) and the US Youth Soccer National League (qualification dependent). All players will receive two player evaluations during the course of the year provided by their assigned coach.
This program provides many of the benefits found at the SYL / Pre-SYL level. Players will not compete in the SYL, CRL, or USYS National League, but they will have the opportunity to attend college showcase events assigned by the Fullerton Rangers. Free goalkeeping training will be available to the goalkeepers in the program. Players may also have the ability to take advantage of the Open Training Policy. All teams at this level will be provided with full-time coaching staff following the Fullerton Rangers Player Development Curriculum, plus ongoing coach education and support provided by the Fullerton Rangers.
This program has been designed to accommodate players that are looking for a higher level of play than Signature but without certain demands associated with the SYL / Pre-SYL and Elite programs. Teams will have a part-time trainer working under the supervision of the Fullerton Rangers coaching department. Goalkeeper specialized training will be available at no additional cost to all goalkeepers in the Plus program. All coaches at this level will receive coaching education support provided by the Fullerton Rangers.
